Hi Everyone,

The Net2 crew recently emailed a list of questions to all featured projects. Our short answers to these questions will be part of the conference brochure. I wasn't sure what two of these questions really meant, and I thought some other groups might have had similar questions. It would be a bummer if we all had different answers to different understandings of the same questions. So...

vi. How will you distribute your Mashup? (200 characters)
vii. How will you encourage use of your Mashup application? (200 characters)

I think it's obvious that all of these projects will be on the internet. When you say distribute, were you talking about whether or not we will charge people to use our mashup, and how much? Or were you asking how we will market our mashup, get the word out about it (which might make question vi. very similar to question vii.)?

When you ask "how will you encourage use" do you mean "what does your marketing scheme look like, how will you convince people to use your mashup?", or did you mean "in what situations will you encourage people to use your mashup and when they are using it, how will you encourage that they use it in order to maximize their social impact?"

This may not be true for everyone, but the various interpretations of these questions would have very different answers for our project.

Thanks!
cheers
Isaac

Thanks for the q's, Isaac.

Responses to your q's, in order.

vi. How will you distribute your mashup?
Yep. Obv, you're using the web for distribution, but what's the distribution model look like? Through partner sites? Through a single site? Really, the q is aobut your distribution strategy? How will you ensure your app gets used?

vii. How will you encourage use? Yep, re your point about Marketing. How will you 'market' your application so it's used appropriately?

Hope these answers make the q's for you and the others more clear.

Lemme know if you have other q's! -bb billybicket AT http://yahoo.com

Question. Are these questions from the aforementioned email meant to be addressed from a technical or mission based perspective. I think you want mission based answers... but we're not sure.

For example 'What problems are you trying to address' does not refer to technical problems that we've encountered... instead to social problems?
